Progress Report on the Accessibility Plan

Introduction

 At Sylvester & Forget Inc., we are committed to identifying, removing and preventing barriers to ensure an environment that is accessible to all. This accessibility plan is developed in accordance with the Accessible Canada Act and aims to strengthen our culture of inclusion.

We developed this plan in consultation with our employees, including those with disabilities, and in collaboration with specialized organizations. We will continue to evaluate and improve our practices to ensure equitable access to our services and our workplace.

2. Consultation of Persons with Disabilities

This plan was developed thanks to:

  • Surveys and interviews with employees with disabilities.
  • Round tables with representatives of organizations specializing in accessibility.
  • Internal assessment of facilities and work processes.

3. Priority Areas and Actions

3.1 Employment

 Objective: To attract, support and retain talented people with disabilities.

Planned actions:

Adapt our recruitment processes to ensure equal opportunities.

Raise awareness and train managers in inclusive practices.

Establish an accommodation framework for drivers and other employees.

3.2 Built Environment

Objective: Ensure the accessibility of our physical facilities.

Planned actions:

Install automatic doors and access ramps.

Integrate Braille signage and improve lighting.

Adapt loading docks and parking lots for better accessibility.

3.3 Information and Communications Technologies (ICT)

Objective: Guarantee the digital accessibility of our tools and platforms.

Planned actions:

Upgrade our website to make it compatible with screen readers.

Train our IT team on digital accessibility best practices.

3.4 Communication

Objective: To make our communications accessible to all.

Planned actions:

  • Provide documents in accessible formats (Braille, large print, audio, electronic).
  • Ensure the presence of subtitles and transcriptions in our videos.

3.5 Acquisition of Goods, Services and Facilities

Objective: Integrate accessibility criteria into our supplies.

Planned actions:

  • Amend tenders to include accessibility requirements.
  • Select suppliers with inclusive practices.

3.6 Design and Delivery of Programs and Services

Objective: Ensure accessibility of all our programs and services.

Planned actions:

  • Develop a checklist to ensure accessibility of services.
  • Create an internal advisory forum to monitor improvements.

3.7 Transport

Objective: Adapt our vehicles and practices for employees with specific needs.

Planned actions:

  • Adjust schedules to accommodate drivers with limitations.
  • Install adjustable steps and swivel seats on some vehicles.

4. Feedback and Continuous Improvement

 We encourage feedback from the public and employees to continually improve our accessibility plan. We are committed to publishing an annual report on our progress and updating this plan every three years.
